We are Moving Downtown!

I can't believe this is actually happening! This has been a dream of mine for many years...I have always wanted a beautiful studio in the heart of downtown Columbia. And, at the start of the magical year of 2010, we will be there!

How did this happen? It was planned, but spontaneous. I've been visualizing what I wanted for quite some time, but I have been too full of fear and doubt to actually make a move toward the vision until now. And, perhaps that is for good reason. It was not the right time 6 months ago or 1 year ago.

It is truly the dedication of the DragonFlies and Moon Belly Ensemble that encourages me to dream bigger and push harder. I feel like I am moving with and for them. This space is not just mine. Not at all. It is for a growing dance community of strong, open hearted, dedicated and true dancers. When I see my dancers every week walk in the door ready to work, sweat and toil...I feel a sense of responsibility and duty to making their experience worthy and healing. They rely on each other too. It is truly an amazing group affection that pushes everyone forward every week, every day. Get ready ladies, we are going for a ride!

I love that we are moving onto St. James street. As many of you know, I got engaged this year to James Barber. His father passed away 6 days after I said YES! and he is one of our guardian angels. His name is also James. My James (Jr.) will be installing the hardwood floors and working on all of the lighting and sound details we need to dance comfortably. He is a savior! The fact that we are moving onto St. James is no coincidence.
